This competition will take place on 23 June, Luxembourg’s National Day, in Lellingen. This charming little village in the Ardennes, in the north of Luxembourg, is transformed for a day into a vibrant open-air art gallery. Renowned beyond the country’s borders, the festival attracts 5,000 visitors each year.

Artists creating their works on site, street art companies, musicians and children’s workshops offer a varied programme and promise a day full of surprises.

This event allows artists to showcase their creativity, demonstrate their art on site, present and sell their works, as well as meet other artists and connect with art lovers.

The audience on site acts as the jury. Using betting slips, visitors can select their top three favourites. Permitted techniques include pencil, watercolour, acrylic, oil and pastel, as well as sculptures in metal, wood and stone.

Categories

The live competition is divided into two categories. Artists may choose to participate in either category. With this division, we aim to ensure that both spontaneous creativity and prepared works are given a suitable place at our festival. Artists must work on the piece entered into the competition on 23 June between 10.00 and 18.00 for at least four hours on site.

Live competition on blank canvas

This category is for artists who wish to create their works on site from scratch on a blank canvas.

Live competition on prepared works

In this category, artists may present works on which they have already worked in advance.

Prizes

The live competition offers attractive prizes, including the ‘Kiischpelter Lorblumm’ trophy, which are awarded in both categories. In addition, the municipality of Kiischpelt awards the Municipal Prize each year. The winners are selected by the municipal council of Kiischpelt.

Registration

Advance registration is only available via the online form. However, you may also register on the day, on 23 June, by 10.30 am at the latest. Participation in the live competition is free of charge.

Artists taking part in the live competition are permitted to exhibit and sell their own works. It is not necessary to register for the art market.
